My Grandma Begley (mom's mom) had surgery on Monday for a bypass. She was originally scheduled for surgery to correct a prolapsed bladder, so they did a stress test on Friday and decided to put in a stint. While they were doing that, she had a massive heart attack. They thought they were going to lose her. She came through OK, and they scheduled her for a bypass Monday. She came through the surgery OK, but has still not come out of the anesthesia. The doctors tried to take out the breathing tube, but she stopped breathing, so they put it back in. They say this happens sometimes, and she could wake up at any time.
Ben's Grandma Hanley had surgery on Friday for colon cancer. She is recovering well, but has not yet received the results of her surgery. She did say that her back, which has been in constant pain, was feeling better. The doctors told her that sometimes pain from the colon can be transferred to the back. So, hopefully, her recovery will be full and she will feel better than she has in a long time.
Prayers are needed for both of these wonderful women.
